First off, I would like to thank everyone
who is reading my blog and following me! It's nice to see that I have followers
out there who like what I have to say and what I have to share! Thank you!
The company that I have chosen to do
thought out my time in this class is "Dicks Sporting Goods."
Dicks Sporting Goods is a company that was founded in 1948. This
company is an "Authentic full-line sporting goods retailer offering a
broad assortment of brand name sporting goods equipment, apparel and footwear
in a specialty store environment" with an outstanding $6.21 Billion
dollars in annual revenue. They are also a publicly traded company.
Dick's Sporting Goods mission statement is
simply this; "At DICK’S Sporting Goods, we ensure ultimate customer
satisfaction by employing an exceptional team of associates, who truly “live”
our brand. Our associates demonstrate a combination of drive, skill, commitment
and passion for our business that is shared with the athletes and enthusiasts
we serve. These experts draw on their personal experience and passion for
sports to guide, inform and inspire every customer, helping to make DICK’S
Sporting Goods the top destination for dedicated athletes in every activity,
for every season."
At first, originally, Dick’s
Sporting Goods was about targeting people in different athletic sports. For
example, they would carry equipment for golf, football, softball, basketball,
soccer, and track. Now they have broaden
their target market by caring products that fit any outdoor even indoor activity. First they were targeting people who were
strictly athletic and over the recent years they have expanded their products
to fit people who weren’t athletic. They
now carry workout clothes, stuff for people to go camping, hiking, or just
being in the outdoors in general. They
also carry many types of athletic shoes to running shoes or just simply
everyday wear tennis shoes.
Dick’s
Sporting Goods isn’t just for people who are athletic anymore. It’s a store where any can come in find what
they need. They offer many different
products for many different people and they are constantly adapting to what is
happening in the world and making sure that their customers and their future
customers are satisfied with what they have to offer.
