Dick’s Sporting Good’s website is just beyond great. It is simple and easy to navigate. One of the best things about when you first
go to the homepage is that it instantly shows you the deals that they have
going on or what their current sales are. This week their all about promoting Mother’s
Day! They keep their website update to date with all the latest trends and
deals.
As you can see to the right, this picture was taken directly from their
home page and advertising towards Mother’s Day!
They are showing their customers by clicking on this image they will be
taken directly towards the “Mother Day’s” special. Where they are offering deals on shoes,
shirts, pants, accessories, and whatever you can think of.
What is also great about this company is that also use Social Media to help put their name out there. They use Facebook, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, Twitter, and now they started using SnapChat!!! Everyone has snapchat these days and I am so happy that they jump board on this. SnapChat is a great way to connect to the younger generation. Their using Snapchat to promote being active outdoors and counting down the days till USA competes at the Olympics this summer. “Snapchat” lets you easily talk with friends, view Live Stories from around the world, and explore new in Discover; Life’s more fun when you live in the moment! (snapchat.com). With their slogan, “Living in the moment”, that is what Dick’s Sporting Good’s is promoting. Their showing their viewers what they do on an inside basis and what they support! Right now their supporting team USA and have a hashtag that people can follow to add to the conversation; #100DaysOut.
Their second biggest tool for a social media platform is “Twitter!”
They currently have 387K followers!! Their all joining the conversation
and showing their appreciation for Team USA by joining the hashtag #100DayOut!
Basically whatever their twitter feed has their facebook feed has as well. Their Facebook and Twitter are linked
together.
Facebook is their true main social media site! They have over 4 million
“likes.” Which means there are over 4 million people who like what Dick’s
Sporting Goods have to offer and they are their current and loyal
customers. When you follow a company
like this you are the first to know about sales, any sweet deals, and first
glance looks on new products. It takes a
while for a TV advertisement to show what’s going on but you have social media
and you know how to work it then you are gold!!
Dick’s Sporting Goods main sales are coming from their successful
online website. Sales grew much faster
than store sales (internetretailer.com).
Dick’s Sporting Goods is number 70 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500
Guide and with that they accounted for 15.7% of sales during the fiscal fourth
quarter ended on Jan 30.!! 14.4% during the prior-year quarter, and for
the year online accounted for 10.3% of sales, an increase from 9.2%. That
suggests the retailer’s online sales increased 13.1% in the quarter and 19.5%
for the year.
